Summary/Abstract: In countries where national minorities exist and immigrants belonging to the same ethnos arrive, interactions occur between them, which may change the cultural patterns and memory practices of both groups. This may lead either to the strengthening of the minority through the inclusion of an immigrant segment, or, conversely, to the marginalization of the minority due to the focus on new immigrants. It may also result in the emergence of two ethnic communities belonging to the same ethnos but differing from each other, competing for public attention and financial resources from the state and local governments. Minorities and immigrants, whose legal status differs from that of minority members, may also jointly form a diasporic community with a shared set of characteristics forming the basis of ethnocultural unity. The situation of recognized national minorities and immigrants belonging to the same ethnos has been present in Poland since the beginning of the 21st century. This article focuses on analyzing the relations between a minority and immigrants belonging to the same ethnos as the minority, using the Armenian, Belarusian, and Ukrainian communities in Poland as examples.
