Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to examine the coherence of the national role concepts (NRC) declared by Polish foreign ministers in the period 2012-2023. The caesuras cover the period of Donald Tusk's second government and Mateusz Morawiecki's second government. The adopted framework allows testing the cohernce and conflicts of roles declared by ministers belonging to ideologically hostile political camps. The information provided by Radosław Sikorski (2012-2014), Grzegorz Schetyna (2014-2015), Witold Waszczykowski (2015-2018), Jacek Czaputowicz (2018-2020) and Zbigniew Rau (2020-2023) was taken into account. The theoretical basis was the author's classification proposed on the basis of Kalevi Holsti's seventeen roles. Following this classification, the study identified ten types of specific roles declared by Polish foreign ministers: state supporting Ukraine militarily and politically; defender of Western values; supporter of Ukraine for its own interests; defender of Ukraine's borders; partner of Ukraine; hub state; catalyst for Ukraine's integration with the West; an initiator; state accepting refugees; and a teacher-state. The coherence of the declared roles was assessed by testing the contestation in terms of Sebastian Harnisch and Juliet Kaarbo.
