Summary/Abstract: The article examines occasional word-formation patterns, specifically Polish relative adjectives with the suffix -owy derived from nominal designations of persons, including proper names. Although such units occur only sporadically in the contemporary Polish system and are largely archaic in character, occasional formations based on anthroponyms are widely attested in colloquial discourse, including online texts. The author offers several explanations for this phenomenon. On the one hand, it may be interpreted as an instance of the analogy principle, which contributes to the optimization of the linguistic system by reducing exceptions. On the other hand, these formations may be viewed as a type of implicature, enabling speakers to convey additional pragmatically marked information.
