Summary/Abstract: Compared to other ways of resolving family disputes, family mediation meets a consensus among the authors of the specialized literature regarding the advantage offered, especially when, in addition to differences arising from mentality, culture, religion, patrimony whether or not arising from marriage and/or commercial business, children are also involved in the dispute. In this context, sociologists increasingly and imperatively invoke the increase in the educational function of the family and the need for social intervention to stimulate parental responsibility, and the family, as the main culprit for some of the social evils, child deviance, child delinquency, violence, etc., is the one to blame, asserting more or less veiledly, more or less justified, that it would be enough for parents to be stimulated or forced to fulfill their obligations with a greater sense of morality or, at least, of civic responsibility, for undesirable social phenomena to be diminished, if not eliminated.
