Summary/Abstract: The present article examines to what extent the representation of ICT in microfiction reflects the concerns derived from technological development, including artificial intelligence. Based on the critical theory of information and media presented by Christian Fuchs, the texts are situated in a social and economic context marked by crisis, automation, and technological dependency. Nine microfiction texts from various platforms (blogs, anthologies, literary contests) are analyzed, offering varied perspectives on the infiltration of technology in narrative and in the represented worlds. The results show that, in the studied texts, ICT are not merely stylistic resources, but mediators of power relations, dehumanization, and control, while also opening up possibilities for new forms of expression and participation. Additionally, it is evident that digital narrative incorporates fantastical elements and transforms language (for example, through the use of SMS and abbreviations), reconfiguring the aesthetic and critical experience of artistic creation.
