Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes the novel Las tierras arrasadas by Emiliano Monge (2015) through the concept of necro-writing coined by Cristina Rivera Garza (2013). Necro-writing gives the reader the possibility of conducting an aesthetical and ethical dialogue with the author of a written work, who are bound together by the lingering presence of death. The literary representations of Central American migration will be analyzed from the standpoint of necropolitics (Mbembe, 2011) and gore capitalism (Valencia, 2010). Capitalist demands transform bodies, life, and death-related processes into commodities: they create an economy that uses extreme violence as a form of investment. These frames of analysis allow to critically approach the materiality of a literature that exposes the exacerbated violence exerted on the migrant.
