Summary/Abstract: The literature of the 2000s focuses on the subversion of forms and the transcription of a cracked, unstable and dispersed identity. Through his novel, Ken Bugul attempts to describe a teratogenic society, itself productive of half-human, half-monstrous individuals; individuals whom it sets out to disown and put to death. The aim of this article is to show how the isotopy of monstrosity in Ken Bugul’s novel makes it possible to expose the questioning of identity among the characters involved.
