Summary/Abstract: The most recent stages in the development of AI made it obvious that it still can’t understand human behavior and mores. For the applied languages teacher, this reminds of the situation of human students starting to study a new culture: it’s often useful to start with the existing stereotypes and then deconstruct them. Could this be also applied in the education of the AI, or would it just reinforce the stereotypes?
