Summary/Abstract: This paper analyses the legislative candidate selection process held by the Partido Liberal de Honduras in 2005. The study approaches issues such as the origin of the organization and its institutional culture and the influence of external and internal rules over the candidate selection mechanism used by the party in this opportunity compared with those used before. Therefore, this article determines the most important characteristics of the candidate selection process and its effects on other areas.
