The theories of cultural trauma and trauma scripts – perspectives of their application in educational studies in the context of the reality of alternative matrices of knowledge and pedagogical discourses

Summary/Abstract: The subject of the analysis is the application of the theories of cultural trauma and trauma scripts in educational studies. Cultural trauma is a social construct based on discourses that represent the event. They define the social identities of the participants and the scopes of responsibility and solidarity. In educational studies, the theory of cultural trauma can provide a matrix for analyzing the ways in which events are represented in hidden and overt programs, for defining the role of entities directly and indirectly related to school as representatives of carrier groups, for attributions of responsibility for the occurrence of the event, the scope of social solidarity, and commemorative practices. From such a perspective, the theory can be applied in the analysis of issues concerning school functioning and its status in civil society and structures of power competing for control over alternative structures of knowledge. Przedmiotem analiz jest zastosowanie teorii traumy kulturowej i skryptów traumy w badaniach pedagogicznych. Trauma kulturowa jest konstrukcją społeczną bazująca na dyskursach stanowiących reprezentację zdarzenia, określających społeczne tożsamości jego uczestników, oraz zakresy odpowiedzialności i solidarności. W studiach pedagogicznych teoria ta może stanowić matrycę analizy sposobów reprezentacji zdarzeń w programie jawnym i ukrytym, określania roli podmiotów związanych ze szkołą jako przedstawicieli grup wiodących, atrybucji odpowiedzialności za wystąpienie zdarzenia, zakresu solidarności społecznej, praktyk upamiętniających. Może być ona wykorzystywana w studiach nad kwestiami dotyczącymi funkcji szkoły i jej statusu w społeczeństwie obywatelskim oraz w strukturach władzy rywalizującej o kontrolę nad alternatywnymi strukturami wiedzy.
