Summary/Abstract: The circular economy is increasingly recognised as a key concept of sustainable development in tourism; however, its practical implementation remains limited. This paper adopts an exploratory research approach and examines the attitudes, levels of awareness, and willingness to change among tourists and accommodation service providers in the context of the circular economy. The study is based on a survey conducted among 60 tourists and 22 accommodation providers. The results indicate that tourists acknowledge the importance of sustainability but tend to prefer simple circular practices that do not require additional effort or financial costs, while their willingness to engage in more demanding behavioural changes remains limited. Accommodation providers, on the other hand, have largely implemented basic sustainability measures, whereas more complex initiatives are constrained by high initial costs and a lack of institutional support. The comparative analysis reveals a gap between tourists’ expectations and the operational capacities of accommodation providers. This paper contributes to a better understanding of the barriers and potentials of circular economy implementation in tourism and provides insights relevant for future research and public policy development.
