Summary/Abstract: The actual international crisis triggered by the Russian invasion of Ukraine has facilitated the assessment of the reactions of Polish politicians, particularly in the scope of the effectiveness of their adopted communication strategies. This study analyses the private Facebook accounts of the two most significant political figures in the Polish bipolar party system: the Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, and the opposition leader, Donald Tusk, Chairman of the Civic Platform. This research focuses on the first two months of the war, from 24th of February to the 24th of April 2022. The primary research method, which consisted of content analysis, was performed based on a categorisation key to examine posts published on the individual accounts. The main objective of the study was to determine how the leaders of the Polish political scene used one of the most popular online communication channels in an extraordinary situation.
