Summary/Abstract: Coparenting is a significant construct for the implementation of parental and partnership roles, supported by evidence collected in numerous studies involving parents of non-disabled children. The article presents the results of our original research aimed at determining the relationships between coparenting in mothers and fathers raising a child with a disability and these parents’ assessment of the quality of their marital/partner relationship. The research issues included checking the predictive role of the child's age and functional status, as well as the duration of the relationship. The adopted model also investigated the relational aspect, verifying the predictive contribution of one parent’s coparenting to the quality of the partnership relationship assessed by the other parent. The material was collected using the Parental Cooperation Scale, the Relationship Quality Inventory, and a survey questionnaire. We analyzed data from 163 parental couples raising children with various types of disabilities. Using hierarchical regression analysis, we established the predictive role of coparenting for the assessment of the quality of the relationship. Mothers’ and fathers’ coparenting formed positive correlations with perceived support and depth of the relationship and negative correlations with interpersonal conflicts. The relational effect was obtained only in fathers – mothers’ coparenting created a significant negative correlation with interpersonal conflicts assessed by men. Sociodemographic variables and the child’s functional status did not create significant regression models with the assessment of the quality of the relationship. The presented research confirms the usefulness of analyzing coparenting in the context of the partnership relationship in parents of children with disabilities and the nature of various trends established in mothers and fathers raising non-disabled children. Badania potwierdzają użyteczność analizy coparenting w kontekście relacji partnerskiej u rodziców dzieci z niepełnosprawnością oraz charakter tendencji ustalonych u matek i ojców wychowujących dzieci pełnosprawne.
