Summary/Abstract: The transformation of biowaste into value-added productsis a crucial element of the circular bioeconomy, presenting a significant op-portunity to enhance the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enter-prises (SMEs). This study investigates the economic, technological, and policyaspects of converting locally sourced biowaste streams into minimum viableproducts (MVPs) through an experimental framework developed in collabo-ration with SMEs. It combines biowaste laboratory processing with focusedSME-prototyping and economic comparison. The residues generated from theHoReCa sector, food processing industry, agribusiness, and retail were trans-formed into functional MVPs such as natural cosmetic products, bio-emulsi-fiers, textile fillers, organic fertilizers, and eco-friendly construction materi-als. The obtained results demonstrate both technical feasibility and economicpracticality. In comparison to traditional landfill disposal, biowaste valorisa-tion decreases average disposal costs by around 40%, reduces greenhouse gasemissions by 60%, and increases material recovery to 35%. SMEs involved invalorization have shown strong interest in further commercialisation, espe-cially in cosmetics, packaging, and green construction sectors. The findingsindicate that MVP-driven circular innovation significantly lowers barriers toentry for SMEs, reduces financial risks, and speeds up market testing. At amacroeconomic level, the results highlight important benefits for resource effi-ciency, green jobs, and regional industrial diversification.
