Summary/Abstract: This paper discusses the initiative and founding of the Radnički športski klub Borac and the influence of the workers’ movement on its establishment. It also examines the “influence” of Veselin Masleša on the club’s founding and whether he was the one who gave the club its name. Furthermore, the sports aspect is not neglected, as attention is given to the club’s struggle to become a full member of the Yugoslav Football Association, and consequently, of the Zagreb Football Subassociation.
