Summary/Abstract: After independence declaration Kosovo entered the phase of state consolidation. While trying to prevent it at any cost, official Belgrade channeled all its diplomatic energy into lobbying against Kosovo’s international recognition. Its turning to the International Court of Justice for an advisory opinion about the legality of Kosovo’s independence is meant for the same purpose.
