Summary/Abstract: On 9th and 10th October, an international scientific conference Beyond Words: (Inter)lingual Reflections in Practice was held in Ventspils, Latvia. This event, which boasts a several-year tradition, was organized by the University of Applied Sciences in Ventspils and Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa, Poland. It focused on current issues of language communication, translation, multilingualism and linguistic policies within the European context. The event was part the European COLOURS initiative, which promotes cooperation between universities on a regional level.
