Summary/Abstract: The author of the present text summarizes some opinions on the work of Mikhail Bakhtin, as they have appeared over the decades, but especially in 2025, when the two anniversaries of the Russian researcher were commemorated. He points to key editions of Bakhtin and collections in which his concepts were discussed by world- -renowned Bakhtinologists, also recalls his way to Bakhtin and introduces world- -famous specialists, including Galin Tihanov, who greeted the Brno workshop, which took place on September 9, 2025 at the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University in Brno and was organized by the Czech Association of Slavists in cooperation with the Institute of Slavic Studies and with the cooperation of other professional associations based in Brno, namely the Central European Centre for Slavonic Studies and the Frank Wollman Society of Slavonic Studies. Rather the intimate workshop with the participation of Czech and Polish literary scholars pointed out the essential pro et contra of the Russian philosopher, methodologist, theorist, aesthetician, culturologist, and theorist and historian of the novel, including the concepts of chronotope, dialogue, and polyphony. The author emphasizes the balanced views of the workshop and the contributions and provocativeness of some of them, which then bring new research perspectives.
