Summary/Abstract: Teachers working with children on the autism spectrum frequently cite psychological and emotional challenges in this group of students. A comprehensive analysis of the underlying causes of these difficulties reveals several key indicators, including emotional instability and chronic stress, diverse sensory requirements, and psychomotor hyperactivity. Consequently, individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder encounter numerous challenges throughout their educational journey. A further challenge confronting neuroatypical individuals pertains to the employment of diverse techniques aimed at concealing or deflecting attention from autistic experiences. This practice can have a detrimental impact on their emotional well-being. The process of adapting to the social environment associated with concealing one's difficulties is referred to as masking. Consequently, it is imperative that psychological and pedagogical assistance is provided not only to students (at the primary or secondary school level), but also to those in higher education. Individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) frequently encounter challenges in the educational environment, often due to the presence of co-occurring disorders, such as anxiety and depression, panic attacks, eating disorders, psychological decompensation, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and (auto)aggressive behaviours. In the context of educational settings that cater to students with diverse needs, the provision of individualised support is of paramount importance.
