Summary/Abstract: This article for the literature review on the functioning of adults with dyslexia in the context of their everyday, professional, and educational lives, with particular emphasis on institutional background in Poland and the United Kingdom. The goal of the study is to identify differences in forms of support and to indicate the necessity to implement effective legislative solutions in Poland. The analysis showed that adults with dyslexia face significant difficulties, what justifies the need of implementing appropriate educational and occupational accommodations. Simultaneously, are presented the selected examples of good practices adopted in the United Kingdom. Furthermore, conclusions and recommendations are made to aid the support of the development of a coherent educational and social policy in Poland.
