Summary/Abstract: The „Perfume of Limes” park is located in the centre of the historical area of the city of Galați, a perimeter with many archaeological discoveries from the Late Medieval to Early Modern Period, especially abandoned underground cellars, building foundations and traces of old sewers and water mains. Although the park is not classified as a historical monument, it does include a „Commemorative Monument of the 1907 Uprising” and sits in the proximity of „Costache Plesnilă House” historical monument. The preventive archaeological research was carried out based on the approval of the Galați County Directorate for Culture, aiming to identify the foundations of the former Apostolide residence and a possible vault, dating from the second half of the 19th century. The archaeological excavation led to the identification of a fire fighting tank from the Second World War, that was clogged with rubble.
