Summary/Abstract: This study emphasizes the evolution of the Romanian Patriarchate, highlighting the historical and theological context that led to its founding. It discusses the stages of development of the Church in the Romanian Principalities, focusing on the transition from quasi-autonomy to autocephaly, which was recognized in 1925 by the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople through Patriarch Basil III. Additionally, the research examines the relationship between canon law and ecclesial structures, relating them to biblical traditions, including the concept of the patriarchate. Abraham’s faith, the prefigurative character of Isaac’s sacrifice, and Jacob’s struggle with God are interpreted as symbols of spiritual transformation, enabling individuals to overcome their fears and seek a deeper connection with the divine. The study highlights that, through the combination of ecclesial identity and biblical theology, the Church serves as a meeting place between humanity and God, paving the way for salvation and divinization.
