Summary/Abstract: The present paper aims to analyse a subliminal backlash against feminism, paradoxically within the very cultural context that founded its legitimacy in discourse of human rights, equality or justice, namely the context of literary activities of the then antiestablishment, dissident activism in former pre-1989 Czechoslovakia. Following the terms “injuring identities” and “wounded attachments” coined by Judith Butler and Wendy Brown, respectively, it attempts to criticize Czech underground and dissident literature for the paradox of internal unproductive contradiction, arguing that while fully absorbed, constituted and arguably blinded by its fight against the official regime, it was ignorant about gender oppression.
