Summary/Abstract: An autoregression with distributed lags (ARDL) is applied to annual data for the twenty-seven member states of the European Union (EU-27) over the period 2014 – 2023. The results from the empirical analysis indicate that income disparity in the Union in the long term can be mitigated by: first, an increase in domestic tourist arrivals; and second, a decline in nominal GDP and foreign tourist arrivals. In the short run, nominal output, domestic tourist arrivals and foreign tourist arrivals do not affect income inequality in the EU-27.
