Summary/Abstract: The article presents data on the older history of the Pakra Monastery. Tradition attributes the beginnings of the monastery to the time of the migration of the Serbian Orthodox population after the establishment of Ottoman rule in Slavonia, specifically the second half of the 16th century. Although the possibility that some form of life existed at that time should not be ruled out, reliable data indicate that the monastery began to function from the time of the Great Turkish War (1683-1699), with the arrival of monks from the destroyed Mileševo Monastery. A few decades later, around 1732- 1735, the monks relocated from the Pakra Monastery to the Saint Ana Monastery. The monastic life was restored after 1738, and a new church was built by 1765.
