Protecting ethnic and cultural diversity in the context of global changes and transformations

Summary/Abstract: From ancient times to the present, people do not live in a closed society, but in communication with different peoples. Over the centuries, thoughtful steps have been taken for the peaceful coexistence of peoples and nations in the world, and a dialogue of cultures has emerged between different peoples. Through the ages, this dialogue has opened the doors to friendly and good neighborly relations between peoples. As a result, trusting relationships were formed between countries and peoples. The article analyzes ways to find solutions in the direction of consensus and dialogue in modern-world conflicts. The importance of multiculturalism policy in the environment of tolerance of different cultures in the development of international dialogue and coexistence is brought to the center of attention. The preservation of the cultures of ethnic groups living in Azerbaijan among the minority peoples of the South Caucasus, as well as the activities of representatives of different religions in the environment of coexistence for centuries, are deeply investigated. In addition to playing an important role in the social and political life of the country, the various peoples living in Azerbaijan have preserved their ethnic characteristics, religions, traditions and languages and kept them alive until today. Ethnonational and religious values occupy a special place in national spiritual values. In this direction, the importance of the policy of multiculturalism is emphasized in the direction of creating an environment of tolerance and multiculturalism, interethnic, interreligious, intercultural mutual dialogue, and ways to ensure peace in society on the territory of Azerbaijan. Multiculturalism is considered a hallmark of a democratic society.
