Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present the primary premises of Edith Stein's pedagogical thought, highlighting its fundamental foundations in the philosophy of man. To this end, the author utilizes the method of historical reconstruction and hermeneutic interpretation of the title problem. The research undertaken allows for the formulation of a thesis according to which Edith Stein's early phenomenological research and the theory of empathy developed within it defined the fundamental foundations and specificity of her pedagogical thought. This, in turn, was based on a polemic with the most important concepts of man discussed in her contemporary times and on the philosophy of the person she developed. In this context, the article primarily refers to Edith Stein's early work, in the form of her research, in which her interests in the philosophy and psychology of the person played a significant role. These interests also underpin the specificity of her pedagogical anthropology, which simultaneously incorporates the basic premises of the phenomenological theory of empathy.
