European architectural influences in Baku in the late 19th to early 20th centuries

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to explore the influence of European architecture in Baku during the late 19th to early 20th centuries. Our conclusion is as follows: during the period under consideration, the architecture of Baku occupies a special place due to the unique synthesis of Eastern style and European architectural schools. It involves examining the history of architectural development in Baku from the early 19th to the 20th centuries in comparison with other cities of the South Caucasus and investigating its main reasons.
