Summary/Abstract: The present paper consists of an ethnological approach of the public perception of astrology in the 2020s Bucharest. Contemporary mass media reports and especially online social networks constantly popularize astrological talks and graphic representations in explaining events of everyday life, meanings of someone’s lifetime, his or her bonds with friends, etc. Astrology is commonly seen as a means of keeping anxiety under control and also as a reliable depiction of one’s career or inner-life perspectives. In what follows, based on my own experience, I will describe the experience of an astrology course, with discussing the practical application of astrological language. As a psychotherapist, I will also explore the links between astrology and psychoanalysis in the work with my interlocutors and during the consultation session I pursued with them, Astrology is argued to be a symbolic and discursive system, accounting to an important extent, with its practitioners, and its audience, for an important social fact, relevant for people’s horizons of expectation, interactions, compatibilities, and so on.
