Summary/Abstract: In our work, we are interested in understanding adolescence from the perspective of those who experience this age, both in terms of their family universe and the separation from childhood, as well as the forms and values of socialization specific to high school classes in a process of affirming their own personality and transitioning to adult life. We intend, as such, to identify the social and cultural landmarks of some students from the “Grigore Cerchez” Industrial School Group in sector 5 of Bucharest, based on their biographical accounts, collected by us in the early 2000s. As we will see, such evocations can prove cultural and psychosocial traits that are still relevant for young people in Romanian society today. This text examines (auto)biographical narrativeness as a documentary basis in terms of life stories (according to a questionnaire developed by Robert Atkinson, 1998) and in terms of the psychological distinction between the process of shaping one’s own identity and the risks of “role confusion” (according to Erik H. Eriksson’s approach, 1968) with which, at this age, some adolescents face.
