Summary/Abstract: The study aims to reconstruct the context and factors underlying the establishment of the journal “Arhiva Someşană” in the town of Năsăud, in 1924, under the supervision of the professor and scholar Virgil Şotropa. Over the course of time, “Arhiva Someşană” has brought to light documents, historical records, letters, and domestic and foreign travel accounts, based on which the milestones of the millennial history of these lands, along with the unity in political and cultural aspirations of Romanians worldwide, have been reconstructed to a great extent. At the same time, it has saved a rich archival heritage from destruction by showcasing it in its pages. Until now, “Arhiva Someşană” has been published in three distinct series: from 1924 to 1940 (28 issues), from 1972 to 1977 (4 issues) and from 2001 to the present (24 issues), with the last two being under the auspices of the Muzeul Grăniceresc Năsăudean.
