Summary/Abstract: If April is the “cruellest month,” according to T.S. Eliot, then November and December are the most politically turbulent months of the calendar. From the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 to the overthrow of the communist regimes in Eastern Europe in 1989, the turn of the year seems to be a propitious moment for street movements. Iran is no exception.
