Summary/Abstract: The small treatise De regno, ad regem Cypri by Saint Thomas Aquinas was written—most likely—between 1265 and 1266. Dedicated to Hugh II (c.1252–1267), King of Cyprus and Regent of the Kingdom of Jerusalem, this work of the Angelic Doctor represents one of the most important syntheses of theology and political philosophy in the entire history of the Christian Tradition. Reading it constitutes a genuine intellectual challenge for (post)modern readers.
