Summary/Abstract: This paper provides an overview of the basic lines of Bosnian historiography as it has evolved in the last forty years. The author starts with conferences and round tables, the usual fora to assess the state and scope of historiography for historians of the older and middle generations. Taking into account the major socio-political changes that have taken place since the 1990s, the author presents recent historiography developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The final section of the paper draws attention to leading pioneers in environmental history research who are either active in Bosnia and Herzegovina or focus their research on this country.
