Summary/Abstract: This study presents the forerunners and artisans of the Greek Revolution of 1821, as well as the main events of the historical process unfolding during the Greek Revolution and the War of Liberation (1821–1829), as reflected and recalled in the periodical of the Hellenic Union of Romania, Ελπίδα/Speranța (Elpida/Speranța [Hope], 1993–2004), respectively Ελπίς/Speranța (Elpis/Speranța [Hope], since 2004). Special attention is given to the studies published in Ελπίς/Speranța by the periodical’s long-standing contributor Apostolos Patelakis, a university professor based in Thessaloniki, who can be rightly considered the most significant Philo-Romanian contemporary Greek author, writing an honest and earnest history of the Greek Revolution of 1821.
