Summary/Abstract: Questions related to energy security are currently among the most important issues in Europe. A number of major reasons are the cause, for example, of the lack of energy reserves and the increasing dependence on one supplier – Russia. The search for alternative means of ensuring the energy security of Europe is becoming a policy priority of EU member countries. Furthermore, the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian dispute in natural gas supply is complicating the transit of this resource into Europe. The fundamental question of this analysis is whether the Caspian region can play an active role in supplying the European market with energy resources.
