Summary/Abstract: Even though, when we speak about the contents of school subjects, there is a significant difference between what is studied in pre‑university education and what is studied in higher education, at the conceptual level the situation is the same: the contents must reflect the objectives of the respective discipline—or, more simply and in terms accessible to everyone, what the learner (pupil, student) “takes away” after successfully completing that discipline. / There are certain essential things. Things for which there is no room for “on the one hand.” Things where evasions, sidesteps, and sophistries have no place. Romania’s national interest is defined by the country’s membership in NATO and the EU.
