Summary/Abstract: This article explores the role of humor, irony, and self-irony in the writings and sermons of Father Nicolae Steinhardt, one of the most prominent Romanian spiritual figures of the 20th century. Steinhardt`s unique approach to theology combines deep faith, erudition, and a remarkable ability to communicate profound truths in an accessible and engaging manner. Drawing on personal experiences of imprisonment and suffering under communism, he transformed pain into joy through an authentic Christian perspective. Humor and irony are not mere stylistic devices in his work, but means of survival and expressions of inner freedom. Moreover, his self-irony reveals humility and openness, marking his discourse with authenticity and a deeply human dimension. This study highlights how Steinhardt`s use of these rhetorical strategies transcends literary ornamentation, serving as tools of teaching, reflection and spiritual consolidation.
