Summary/Abstract: This paper explores the essential role of the religious education teacher in the pastoral care of children with moderate and severe intellectual disabilities. In a society increasingly marked by secularism and digital distractions, the presence of the religion teacher becomes a beacon of spiritual stability and moral formation. Drawing on theological, pedagogical, and psychological perspectives, the study highlights the challenges and the deep significance of delivering religious education within special education settings. The religious teacher is presented not only as an educator but also as a spiritual guide who supports the children’s journey toward faith, inner peace, and social integration. Through personal experiences, practical strategies, and doctrinal foundations, the paper advocates for a compassionate, creative, and profoundly human approach to teaching religion in special schools. Special attention is given to the importance of collaboration between school and family, the adaptation of educational materials, and the safeguarding of the sacred in the educational process.
