Summary/Abstract: Sexual health is considered as a positive complexity of physical, psychological and sexual health instead of considering it as an absence of simple illnesses, ailments or other complaints. The problem of sexuality in teen years is deeply related to many factors, not only to physiological or psychological aspects. Society morality, specific cultural gender-related social behavior enhance the problem. The problem of early sexuality is mainly the subject of physical maturity and psychical qualities, they result in psychosocial problems. The spread of sexual relationships among teenagers of 14 to 18 years old and its analysis were set as the aim of the research. In order to study teenagers’ attitudes towards prenuptial relations a standardized written poll was used. 145 schoolchildren in the age group of 14 – 18 from “N” gymnasium, Šiauliai, and “N” school participated in this study. The study was carried out during the period from 25th April, 2004 to 15th February, 2005. In the article 2 focus groups of teenagers were interviewed in 8 Šiauliai city „N” gymnasiums and 9 Šiauliai city „N” schools. Statistical data was supplemented using qualitative content analysis. Teenagers totally indistinguishing sexuality and sex concept, they vindicate early sexual intercourse and a lack of conscious motivation to avoid it. A bigger part of the polled teenagers have sufficient knowledge on sexuality and, as mentioned above, the main source of information is the mass media. More than one third of the polled (39.31%) have experience in sexual relations. Teenage boys are more sexually active (51.28%) compared to teenage girls. Almost half of the polled teenagers pointed out that alcohol influenced their decision to have first sexual contacts and stimulated their sexual activeness. Moral or ethical rules do not seem to play a strong role in sexual behavior. The polled teenagers’ attitudes towards prenuptial relations reflect their sexual behavior – both groups, sexually active teenagers and without sexual experience, seek pleasure, self and partner satisfaction.
