Summary/Abstract: In today’s secularized society, the human body is increasingly perceived through a reductionist and autonomous lens, stripped of its theological and eschatological significance. This article explores the spiritual and theological understanding of the body within Orthodox Christian tradition, emphasizing its integral role in the salvation and sanctification of the human person. Drawing on patristic sources such as St. Simeon the New Theologian, St. Maximus the Confessor, and modern theologians like Fr. Dumitru Stăniloae, the study highlights the essential unity of body and soul. The body is not merely a vessel or a temporary garment but a co-participant in divine grace and deification. By reclaiming the spiritual dignity of the body, the article argues for a renewed Christian anthropology capable of countering both materialist and dualist conceptions of the human person.
