Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to analyze the status of women in society of Madagascar. To this end, we examine four performances by three of the most well-known Malagasy slam poets who write in French and local languages (Louis'Z Fasa, Caylah, BEAU). The author highlights the discursive strategies deployed by these slam poets to reveal and describe representations of women in Madagascar’s society. This analysis allows readers to discover slam poetry not only as a simple artistic activity for Madagascan women, but above all as a powerful tool for female rebellion that helps to break the silence, challenge inequalities and claim a legitimate place in society.
