Summary/Abstract: On 21 May, on the feast day of Saints Constantine and Helen, Romanian language teacher Laura Sârbu—an eminent researcher of traditional culture and civilization in the Transylvanian area—passed away, almost forgotten. A graduate of the Faculty of Philology in Cluj (valedictorian of the 1964 class), she began her activity as a museum specialist at the Regional Museum in Baia Mare, having been assigned there following her marriage to engineer Nicolae Sârbu, the future university professor at the “Faculty of Engineering” of the “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu. It was here that she devoted herself, with remarkable results, to the study of incantations from the Lăpuș region, on which she published several studies in specialized journals from Maramureș and Cluj, as well as from Sibiu: Transilvania, Studii și comunicări de etnologie, Forschungen zur Volks- und Landeskunde—the latter two being periodicals of the Romanian Academy.
