Profilul unui etnolog: Ion Cuceu (23 iulie 1941 – 26 decembrie 2023)
An Ethnologist's Profile: Ion Cuceu (July 23, 1941 – December 26, 2023)

Summary/Abstract: At the end of 2023, Professor Ion Cuceu passed away. We lost an ethnologist with a really deep understanding of traditional Romanian culture, a teacher and a mentor with a special generosity. Our paper recalls the image of the Mentor Ion Cuceu, as I knew him during the nearly ten years in which I went through all the stages of university education, from student to postdoctoral researcher. I am sure that it was not only for me that his generosity, accompanied by his seriousness and thoroughness as a researcher, laid the foundation for fulfilling careers, both in research and in teaching.Ion Cuceu was a remarkable personality in the field of cultural studies, a researcher with thorough and courageous approaches for the time of their publication, and a dedicated director who led for over three decades of the “Folklore Archive of the Romanian Academy” Institute in Cluj-Napoca in the post-communist period.
