Summary/Abstract: It is part of our human nature that we love success and brilliance, and it flatters our soul when our environment speaks with appreciation about our work and achievements. The opening lecture of the academic year will partly address this as well; however, I should say beforehand that after working quite a lot on the text of the lecture, I finally decided to keep up with the times.
