Summary/Abstract: „Rocznik Łódzki” is one of the oldest historical academic journals in Poland, with its first volume published in 1928. After a hiatus caused by World War II and the unfavorable climate for publishing historical journals during the Stalinist era, it has been published continuously since 1958. The periodical is published by the Lodz Branch of the Polish Historical Society in co-edition with the State Archives in Lodz. For years, the journal was the most important place for publishing various types of scientific texts by representatives of the Lodz historical community. It also featured publications by outstanding researchers from other Polish scientific centers. „Rocznik Łódzki” has often been the place of scientific debut for historians representing various periods of our history, as texts on the history of Poland, Lodz, and the Lodz region definitely dominate. Many people were associated with the journal as editors, members of successive program councils, and authors. This text contains reflections on the nature and creation of the journal and the people associated with it through various functions and roles.
