Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on three issues. First, it presents a figure who seems to have been somewhat forgotten today, even in her native environment. Secondly, I will analyze her main threevolume work, Studies on the Establishment of the Łódź Industrial District 1815–1870 (the first volume was published in 1964, the next in 1967, and the last in 1975). Thirdly, I would like to say a few words about the contemporary reception of G. Missalowa’s scientific achievements.
