The Accessibility of Selected Facilities in the Area of Piotrkowska Street in Łódź for Wheelchair Users

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to assess the adaptation of selected catering facilities, tourist attractions and an information office located along Piotrkowska Street in Lodz for the needs of wheelchair users. Both information and physical accessibility were examined during the research. Desk research and field survey methods were used for gathering data. Moreover, to assess the accessibility of the tourist information office the author also used elements of the ‘go-along’ method conducted with the participation of wheelchair users. The findings indicate that information about accessibility for people with disabilities published on social media, map platforms and websites is incomplete and, in some cases, false.
