Summary/Abstract: This text is an attempt to find in the teachings of John Paul II research indicators concerning the dignity of the person and the family for media studies. Therefore, the premise of this article is that the philosophical and theological thought and the entire social teaching of John Paul II reveal the essence of the concept of the person, their dignity and the contemporary status of the family in relation to the media. Moreover, the broadly understood thought of John Paul II contains direct recommendations for presenting the dignity of the person and the family in the media. In this sense, the text aims to formulate areas of research in the analysed thought that can become direct indicators for empirical research in the field of media.
