In the next part, selected legal principles, concerning the organization of visitation, are discussed. Any such event serves the common good of the religious institute, the religious themselves, as well as the good of the universal Church. Canonical visitation of religious communities, as in history as in modern times, is a very important and useful legal tool. Through visitation, problems and difficulties and abuses in religious life can be diagnosed and resolved. Conducting an effective visitation requires good preparation of it, on the part of the visitator and the community itself. And during this event, it is very useful to create an atmosphere of trust and openness for all concerned, who should seek God's will above all. Visitation with its formal aspect, within the framework of the law, is a meeting of people concerned about the best way to live the charism and religious vocation.
